All’s well that ends well.

Its been another great week in the life of the travellers, we’ve been pampered more here than we ever could be at home! Lets see, we left Denver with Lauren on the Saturday morning and picked Kyle up at Denver airport and from there started our epic journey up to Boseman, Montana, onto Yellowstone, back to Bozeman and then back down to Wichita Kansas – Quite a saunter.

Its haven’t really had a chance to update this or email/speak to anyone back home in the last week as we’ve been really busy and the time difference has been murder. So here is perhaps the biggest blog to date :P I don’t like writing big chunks like this though as I always end up missing things out of not being motivated enough to add as many pictures.

Alright, as I said after the great time in Denver we buckled up and went to pick up Lauren’s boyfriend Kyle from Denver Airport. After some quick and sleepy greetings we got back in the van and headed for Bozeman, a mere 8 hour drive (I think. What you must forgive me for is my inability to remember car journey times on this trip.). Two hours away from Bozeman we met up with Adam (a crazy hillbilly) and Joleine (A likewise crazy Belgian) who’d stayed with Lauren in Kansas for a few days before heading north to meet us.

The straightest road in America...

More ridiculously straight roads...

We arrived in Bozeman around 8ish to be warmly greeted by the Feigle family, Laurens God parents and cousins. The let us stay with them for a few days while we were making an excursion to Yellowstone.

Debbie, Trey & Holt (Win, was asleep as this was taken pretty early in the morning)

They were a great family to stay with, very friendly and welcoming. Reoccurring theme anyone? Their sons Win and Holt taught me how to through an American football too which was fantastic. I’m not quite a Quarterback yet but who knows... After some sports, swimming at hot springs and taking the quad bike out to the hills up behind the house it was time to make our journey to Yellowstone for some camping.

The drive from, Bozeman was around an hour and 40 mins which wasn’t too bad, nice scenery on the way. The size of the park however resulted in about 3-4 hours of driving around it to find things. We stopped first at the boiling river and went for a swim. The current was pretty strong but they’re was a little wall made with rocks so you could sit in it like an outdoor Jacuzzi :D. Headed to a few Geysers next and ended up at Old Faithful where we caught the 5:07pm showing (It’s not called Old Faithful for nothing!). After that we headed to our campsite and got set up. Got a fire going and had some s’mores then had an argument about which was the North Star and which was the space station, is it obvious we’re all geeks? J. Anyway after putting the fire out and going to sleep me and Iain had to get up and put it out a second time after it caught by itself in the middle of the night interrupting what was otherwise a good nights sleep.

The next morning after packing things away we went to see some more waterfalls and Geysers and then after some lunch parted ways with Adam and Joleine to make our way back to Bozeman. I did take loads of pictures at Yellowstone but my camera SD card died again so I lost them all. Iain and Stu had loads but I’ve yet to get copies. We got back to Bozeman quite late and pretty much just crashed.

The next day was just spent recovering from the long journey and playing some touch football with Win and Holt.

After being tired out by the kids we watched some Olympics and started to pack for the next morning when we were going to leave to head back down to Kansas with Lauren.

Got some pictures of the amazing home and family that we were staying with (thanks again guys, really appreciated it!). Before hitting the hay me and iain took the quad bike up to the hills behind the house to get some pictures:

After that we got just went to bed and got some sleep and then after some breakfast the next morning we set off...

And then drove….

And drove…..

And drove…..

Stayed at a hotel…

Then drove…..

And drove…..

Visited Mt. Rushmore

Then drove….

And drove….

Finally we arrived at Laurens house and crashed once more. Since we’ve arrived here we’ve mostly just been playing pool and watching the Olympics. Its been a tiring week more so for Lauren whose down a power of driving while we pretty much made a nuisance of ourselves J. Tomorrow we’re going to go sort out a hire car and then perhaps go to Adams up in Nebraska for some more horse riding and shooting of assault rifles – Oh Yeah J

Re-reading this I can see there’s loads of fun stuff that I’ve left out and its not that entertaining a read , my apologies. I'll try and keep it a bit more regular to avoid long boring posts like these.
