Championship Vinyl

Thats us now in Milwaukee but the last day in Chicago was one of the best so far. The guys were just chilling out int he hotel and I wanted to go visit the store where High Fidelity was filmed. Without phones its tricky to meet up so wee arranged to meet in Blue Chicago, a famous blues bar apparently.

So i set off with 20 bucks in my pocket, a map and some music. The journey over was pretty nice, got off at North/Clyborne station and walked west for just under an hour (I would have gotten the subway from the main loop over but the walk didn't look far at the time....).

Finally reached the crossroads of West North Avenue and North Milwaukee Avenue (See pic above) and walked around for a bit. Got a little lost before I found the shop and ended up walking around Wicker Park for a bit before finding the street i was looking for.

Managed to find a the street soon after and completed the first pilgrimage of this USA tour!

By this point I had about 2 hours to kill before I had to head back to the centre of town to meet the guys in that blues club so I decided to go for a beer in "The Flat Iron". The place was pretty quiet and i got talking to a few guys at the bar and the girl serving. Tried a few differnt beers and found one called "Rogue" that was pretty tasty and rather strong :). Ended up hanging out in the bar with Chris and Mary-anne for a little longer than I'd planned :) Decided to call it quits a few beers and some complimantary american whiskey, took some pictures and headed off to meet the guys.

We had a great night in the blues club when we finally met up (2 hours later than I said I'd be there). So good infact that we missed our bus to Milwaukee but a few hours the next morning :)
Managed to get here in the tho and had a really good night last night playing Beer Pong and going to a local bar where it was $1 a drink thursdays :)

Oh yeah..
later
