Of Bats and Cages

Tried our hand at baseball last night! Chris took us out by miller park (The Milwaukee baseball Staduim) to a sports shop where they had a batting cage. Chris (Dent) stepped up first and showed us how it was done. Some kids came next so we let them have there fun for a bit then it was Stu's turn. He was a natural and hit just about every ball cleanly! Iains was pretty good also even though he was swinging the bat like a golf club :) Then it was my turn. I'd been taking the mick out of Chris (Dent) telling him it was just like Rounders for women and he was less than pleased :)

Anyway it went not too badly! Once I got used to the timing it was actually quite fun! I can imagine it being a fun game to play. The balls we we hitting were only travelling about 65-70mph and they were tricky. The Pro's in the Major League through them between 70-100mph!

After that we hung out with Dent back at his place a few blocks away from nicky and watched a bit of baseball. There was a general thirst in the camp so we went to Dents local and had a few beers and shot some pool with some of his friends who happened to be there. Ended up staying there for a few hours and having a few more beers. Stu was looking a little worse for wear however. He's been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days and has some huge mosquito bites so i think we're going to take him to the doctor and get him checked out.

After that we're supposed to be going to a "Dollar Burger Night" at some bar where they have, you guessed it, burgers for a dollar. Britney has just informed me however that we're going to a mexican place instead where they have a mechanical Pepper instead of a mechanical bull haha. Should make for an interesting evening regardless!

Although there hasn't been much in the way to do in Milwaukee its been really great spending time with people we "know". Just hanging out and doing ordinary things has been a welcome break from the relative monotiny of the ig city tourist traps. I can see these stop offs with some of the people iain met in Prague being the most fun!
